Medical weight loss program
At Paramour Aesthetics there are two medical treatments offered for weight loss: Tirzepatide and semaglutide. A thorough assessment will be completed including blood work. The provider will determine if the patient is a candidate.
Tirzepatide was approved for treatment of diabetes in the United States in May 2022, in the European Union in September 2022, in Canada in November 2022, and in Australia in December 2022. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers it to be a first-in-class medication. It was approved by the FDA for weight loss in November 2023, under the brand name Zepbound. In November 2023, the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency revised the indication for tirzepatide to include treatment for weight loss. Tirzepatide is also indicated as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management. Tirzepatide is contraindicated for use in people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or for use in people with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.
Semaglutide injection is used to treat type 2 diabetes. It is used together with diet and exercise to help control your blood sugar. This medicine is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death in patients with type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart or blood vessel disease. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. Semaglutide injection is also used together with diet and exercise to help lose weight and keep the weight off in patients with at least one weight-related medical condition.
Neurotoxin
XEOMIN is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a short period of time (temporary). It is not known if XEOMIN is safe and effective in children under 18 years of age.
